Global technology corporation FPT has
signed a Memorandum of Understanding with FESCARO, a South Korean integrated vehicle security platform
provider, on automotive software development and cybersecurity services.
This move is set to
strengthen FPT’s cybersecurity offering for automotive customers while laying
the foundation for future co-development in Software Defined Vehicle solutions,
both in South Korea and globally.
As software becomes central to
next-generation vehicle architecture, cybersecurity is becoming a core
consideration from the earliest stages of development. By combining FPT’s AI-first approach,
large-scale engineering and delivery capabilities with FESCARO’s strengths in
automotive cybersecurity technologies and domain know-how, the partnership aims
to deliver a more end-to-end and scalable offering for OEMs and Tier suppliers
facing increasingly complex security requirements.
The collaboration will cover key areas
across the automotive cybersecurity spectrum, including security solutions,
security testing and penetration testing, threat analysis and risk assessment,
and consulting.
FESCARO and FPT will initially focus on jointly
delivering services tailored to meet the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) needs
of their key clients in the South Korean automotive market, while also
exploring opportunities for collaboration in connected and autonomous mobility
across global markets.
“Cybersecurity
is becoming a business-critical enabler of the automotive industry’s next
chapter, where software, AI, and connectivity will increasingly define product
value and customer trust. Our collaboration with FESCARO will bring together
the right capabilities to help our Korean clients strengthen resilience,
accelerate innovation, and build trust into the next generation of mobility,”
said Duong Nguyen, FPT Automotive Chief Revenue Officer, FPT Corporation.
Koo Seong-seo, Chief Business Officer
(CSO) of FESCARO, stated, "By combining FPT's global software expertise
with Fescaro's automotive cybersecurity technology, we will create a
collaboration model optimized for the SDV environment. This collaboration will
also serve as a catalyst for expanding joint business opportunities in the
global market."
Backed by two decades of automotive engineering experience, FPT has built a global automotive workforce of 5,000 software engineers, supported by strategic partnerships with leading chipmakers, Tier-1 suppliers, and OEMs, while also investing in future talent through the Automotive Software Engineering Department at FPT University. The company’s delivery capabilities are reinforced by compliance with major international standards in safety, cybersecurity, and software development, helping ensure reliability for global automotive programs. It recently signed a Technical Assistance and Development Agreement with Qualcomm, becoming the first partner under this model in Vietnam and the second in Southeast Asia’s automotive sector to access Qualcomm’s latest technologies and engineering resources to accelerate the development of AI-driven automotive solutions.
FESCARO is an integrated automotive cybersecurity platform provider. As the mobility industry shifts toward software-defined vehicles and cybersecurity regulations continue to evolve, the company delivers ECU security solutions, in-vehicle communication security solutions, and regulatory compliance IT solutions such as the CSMS Portal. Built on an integrated platform covering the entire vehicle lifecycle, FESCARO supports clients in cybersecurity design, validation, and the establishment of operational systems. In 2023, FESCARO played a key role in enabling clients to obtain all four major international automotive cybersecurity certifications (CSMS, SUMS, VTA, ISO/SAE 21434), achieving Korea’s first “grand slam.” In 2025, the company further demonstrated its global competitivenessby becoming the first Korean company to join Auto-ISAC as an Innovator Partner. Leveraging its strong track record in the automotive sector, FESCARO is expanding its business into broader mobility domains, including robotics, agricultural machinery, railways, and vessels.
